Borley Rectory: The Awakening

Working as Production Designer, I did extensive historical research during pre-production to ensure a good balance between the design and the respectful integration of the location into the film. Alongside developing the visual world and creating graphic props, I was responsible for the care of the historic location during the shoot.


Filming at Ingatestone Hall—a Grade I listed mansion dating back to the 16th century—I liaised closely with the location owner to determine which items could be used or moved for the film. I was also entrusted with handling historic paintings and furniture to fit the design, while ensuring that nothing was damaged during filming.
